For the original Silent Hill click here

Year Released: 2007

Developer: Climax Action

Publisher: Konami

System(s): PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 2

Type of Horror:Survival/Psychological/Gore

Isolated or Mass Extinction Event:

Isolated

Bad ways to die:

Stabbed in the eye with a syringe from a deformed nurse, get crushed by some behemoth monster walking the streets, be cut in half by a gigantic man with a knife. Puppets that bite your neck. The usual stuff.

Other notes:

The game was originally supposed to have an over the shoulder Resident Evil 4 feel to it.

It has a fixed difficulty rating.

Setting: Silent Hill

Belligerents:

Monsters kind of made up by your own psyche?

Main Character:

Travis Grady

Rootin’ and tootin’ but mainly just tootin’

Travis Grady is a commercial truck driver that finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Winding up in Silent Hill he is forced to face the demons of his childhood.

Weapon(s) of Choice:

Literally fucking everything. The guy beats monsters to death with IV drip bag stands.

RATINGS:

ATMOSPHERE: 20/20

STORY: 15/20

CONTROLS: 10/20

SOUND: 18/20

GRAPHICS: 12/20

OVERALL: 75%

The story starts off sort of weak but picks up in a great way only to end as a complete head scratcher. A case of making the game forty minutes shorter would have made the story much more powerful. Controls aren’t great. This could have been perfect for such a late release on the system too but the game just looks so dark in all the wrong ways. Enjoyable but far from perfect.

Try not to let a puppet bite your neck, peeps!

      1. 😄 I loved Resident Evil back in the day (1998), and that video gives me some very retro RE vibes.

      2. You should do a guest post! Resident Evil through the eyes of Christianity! Lol

      3. You’re smart. I’m sure you can pull together some big concepts
