Records You Should Listen To Before You Perish Vol. 1

“You’re the echoes of my everything
You’re the emptiness the whole world sings at night
You’re the laziness of afternoon
You’re the reason why I burst and why I bloom”

I am a musician. Or was. Still am I guess. I still play in a couple groups but I was never quite able to quit my day job. I probably got closer than most but it still never happened. Anyways thats all in the past.

More importantly- music is a big deal to me and always has been. It’s a powerful healer and communicator and I like a lot of different types of music. A LOT.

So – I’ve decided to share some albums that are special to me. In no particular order. Just some records that you may have heard of and some you might not have. From death metal to country music and everything in between I proudly present the new section, Records You Should Listen To Before You Perish.

The first record to be featured is by one of my favorite groups ever, Motion City Soundtrack

(Twincities.com)

Following their amazing debut album the Minnesota group avoided the dreaded, “sophomore slump” with arguably their strongest record, Commit This To Memory.

Produced by Blink 182 front man, Mark Hoppus CTTM is a masterful blend of patient songwriting and huge pop/punk hooks. Frontman Justin Pierre’s mature subject material struggling with alcoholism and drug abuse somehow fits perfectly with the polished pop backdrop.
