Sunshine Blogger Award

I was nominated for an award that I absolutely don’t deserve!

First off, I have never been nominated for anything in my life. So thank you to my friend, The Gamer With Glasses for this Sunshine Blogger Award.

The fact that my blog rarely inspires sunshine in its reader’s life is besides the point of the Sunshine Blogger Award, I guess. But any award based on the sun has to hold some sort of significance and I am very flattered regardless.

So as apart of the award, Gamer has left me a few questions to be answered and they are as follows:

  1. What’s one game you refuse to finish?
  2. What game would you like there to be a sequel for?
  3. What game coming out this year, if any, are you most excited for?
  4. What’s your go to snack?
  5. What is the best way to preserve older games in your opinion?
  6. What goals do you have for your blog this year, if any?

1.) What’s one game you refuse to finish?

It really is funny that this question is asked considering my best friend and I have literally spent the past week discussing our disdain for Resident Evil: Code Veronica. He is in the process of playing it on Dreamcast and he is stuck in the same exact spot I found myself stuck in years ago during my first attempt on PlayStation 2.

The fucking Tyrant on the plane part.

We both concluded that the reason more people don’t complain about this part online is either A.) They don’t actually play through all of their games they show off in their collections or B.) We both suck at video games. It probably is a combination of the two.

I do intend to actually play and beat it sooner rather than later – but this time I’m going in eyes wide open. Strategy guide, multiple saves, multiple walkthroughs pulled up on a laptop as well. If I approach it like a military mission I like my chances but until then I haven’t had the heart to pick up the “supposed” masterpiece from one of my most beloved collected franchises.

2.) What game would you like there to be a sequel for?

I have never been known to be a big Nintendo guy. But that wasn’t always the case. One of my favorites other then Goldeneye 64 was the incredibly lovable and addicting, Diddy Kong Racing. Why didn’t this amazing game get a sequel? You bastards at Nintendo have made millions of Mario Karts and never one sequel to Diddy Kong Racing? Shame on you!

I will never forget you.

3.) What game coming out this year, if any, are you most excited for?

Well … I actually haven’t touched my PS4 all year and have no intentions of buying a ps5 for the next few years so there’s really little I’ve looked forward to as far as new releases are concerned. I guess if I had to choose one game it would probably be Resident Evil Village. But will I be buying it anytime soon? Incredibly doubtful.

Chances are I will buy a new console when Elder Scroll 6 is released so sometime around 2089.

4.) What’s your go to snack?

Oof. Chips. I’m a chip guy. I will eat an entire bag of chips in one sitting like some sort of lunatic.

5.) What is the best way to preserve older games in your opinion?

I have this weird relationship with remastered games. I absolutely hate movie remakes. I can’t stand it and being more of an old system guy that distaste for remakes kind of bleeds into gaming as well.

I can see the positives of introducing new generations to older franchises and classics but I struggle with it because A.) it’s a cash grab and b.) Why is it such a pain for kids to play on an old system? And even if their parents don’t have one then use an emulator. There is no reason I should own four copies of FFX.

As far as physically preserving games – I’m not sure. Disc rot is a real thing, I guess? Even though I think it effects ps1 and Dreamcast games more because of the jewel cases over the plastic cases but I have no answers for that. I am not a scientist. Hell, I’m not even a smart guy.

Case in point, I didn’t even answer this question, really. Once a game hits twenty years old it should be released for free forever to anyone. There ya go. Preserve the oldies, save the kids some money and force Square to make another game before I fork over another $50.

6.) What goals do you have for your blog this year, if any?

I have absolutely no plans for my blog aside from have fun. Vent about music and games and whatever else I’m obsessing over that week and interact with my friends (real and internet) in the comments. I like to keep my expectations as low as possible and be surprised when people are kind enough to drop in or notice.

So in keeping with the good spirit of the Sunshine award I will nominate a few of my favorite bloggers even though I know most of them if not all are too busy or have awarded this a billion times before.

Please go check out and follow my friend: The Gamer With Glasses if you haven’t already.

I nominate:

Jarilissima

Pinkie

Damien

Olive

My Questions are:

1.) Have you ever been so scared or disturbed by a video game you refused to finish playing it?

2.) Best concert you have ever been to?

3.) Last show of any kind you saw before COVID hit?

4.) The Best Movie Trilogy?

5.) Dogs or Cats?

6.) What do you think games will look like fifty years from now?

If you’re too busy to answer I totally get it! I appreciate being selected to do this. If you would like to do this please let me know and I will add you!

  1. Hey man, thank you for the nomination, I am flattered. Your answers were excellent and I agree with a lot of your points. I won’t be getting a next gen console for a good while and I am definitely a chip man like yourself. I will put up my answers as soon as. Thank you again, I really appreciate it. 🙏

  2. Hey! Congrats on this! 🙌 I think you totally deserve it. Your blog is super cool and it always gives me flashbacks 😄 For instance, I had forgotten Resident Evil: Code Veronica was a thing! My brain just went bbzzzt and remembered it.

Thanks for the nomination! To be honest, I don’t know how to do these things. Do I nominate a certain amount of bloggers? Do I make up my own questions? LoL I’ve no idea 😅

    1. That means a lot. ☺️You have been the most encouraging person in the Blogsphere 😂 and I love reading your blog for a completely new perspective on things I would have normally dismissed.

I believe if I did it right – you would answer the questions I listed for you and then think of some questions you’d like to ask people and nominate others to answer those.

All if you felt like doing any of that. If not that’s fine too and you can just feel awesome people are nominating you for being cool 😂
