Current games streaming?

My main pvp game that includes my favorite dragon characters is Heroes of the Storm! Since Blizzard’s recent breakup announcement with the game, I have started streaming World of Warcraft in preparation for the Dragon Aspect expansion.
As a huge Star Wars lover Friday is one of my favorite nights where I spend the evening playing games like Legos Star Wars, Old Republic, and Jedi: Fallen Order while doing Star Wars trivia or Pictionary. It is not uncommon to also see me play a fighting game or phasmo with friends though!

When did your streaming journey begin?

I started streaming in January after developing chronic pain issues that caused disruption in a lot of my goals this year due to physically limitations. Streaming has helped by giving me something new to focus on while going through my health journey. I’ve made a lot of awesome streamers and even when I don’t feel well enough to leave my house I still feel like I am going out in the world!

Do you have a type of genre of game you prefer to stream?

Light hearted sci-fi or fantasy games have always been my favorite. I love being able to escape to something outside of the real world. I grew up on games like Chocobo’s Dungeon, FF, Crash, and Sonic. With the introduction of the internet, games that incorporate sci-fi or fantasy elements into PVP rank very high for me (hence a past World of Warcraft addiction…)

Do you have a schedule?

I stream every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 9:00pm. Generally 3-4 hours sessions.

What was the first game you streamed?

Heroes of the Storm was the first game I streamed while dressed as my favorite character Alexstrazsa. I had no idea what I was doing and ended up eating soup and a vegan hot dog while streaming for a long time! I figured no one was really watching. Crazy enough…my soup eating stream still holds the record for highest video total views to this day. Apparently I should have been a food streamer….

Do you have other streaming partners?

I don’t have any formal partners but I am proud to have a strong community with many other streamers. We have all grown and learned from each other while staying true to our roots and friendships. I started off networking on the IAmGreysonRogers channel to find other streamers that I vibed with and went from there.

What is the most outlandish thing that has happened to you while streaming or while you were watching someone stream?

I always joke that I am not a Star Wars therapist, I am on the council but don’t hold the title of master. I give viewers who angry write essays on Star Wars a few minutes to calm down by addressing them directly about the channel vibe. Most seem to relax but banning and trolling is not uncommon on Star Wars nights. One time a viewer who got banned went out of their way to join my discord to troll and then proceeded to comment on every Star Wars related instagram post I had. I was half impressed at the thorough effort to be super salty.

What is your ideal Twitch community?

Viewers who are passionate about similar hobbies but share the mentality to be respectful in allowing people to enjoy what makes them happy. I don’t shy away from “real world talk” when it is needed but work and life can be draining for myself and viewers as well, so I strive for the ideal of keeping positive chill vibes.

What do you like to see in your Twitch community?I love when viewers are able to make some genuine online friends during a stream. It can be hard to find like minded individuals who share passion for some of your hobbies and that spark is always fun to witness. Even more wonderful is when people find good friends despite having nothing in common as well!

What are some things Twitch needs to address?

I believe most streamers would agree that the Twitch commission rate is high. Supporting your fellow friends often times feels like a pyramid scheme that feeds their top 1% executives as opposed to going towards initiatives that would benefit all streamers. It would be nice to see Twitch use some of that cut to utilize a more aggressive online marketing strategy that brings more viewers to the app and generates overall brand awareness. Failure to do so may cause them to continue to fall behind more widely used apps like Tik Tok and Instagram where mass viewers are continuing to choose to consume short videos for instant gratification instead of

watching streamed content. Most people I know aren’t even aware Twitch exists which is problematic and signals how they are not strategizing better to expand their brand awareness. They rely too much on the streamer-to-streamer support model for viewership and gratification for monetary gain on their end, which is why often times I dub it a pyramid app despite its many positive community attributes.

What makes your streams unique?Perhaps there is a charm to my deaf dog’s pacing foot steps heard on my phasmo streams for ambience? My mean dog with a breathing disorder creates a great darth vadar effect and you will never find a stream without a cat butt making an entrance at some point. Not as important as cat butt obviously, but I do strive to keep viewers engaged with fun activities. When I have time I make streams extra special with slide show discussions and trivia which is really enjoyed by viewers. I am also not shy about my bad dance moves.

What would you tell a brand new streamer or wish that someone told you when you were first starting out?

Find others streamers on your level via networking channels and social media that you vibe with to grow alongside. This will make your experience more positive while experiencing less burnout. But do not expects others support you if you are not genuine or be unable to scale realistic expectations and goals.

What is rewarding about streaming?

I’ve made some really incredible true friends, some I have even met in person. It has also given me a chance to show case my funky fashion sense. Between working from home since covid and not feeling well, I was in a fashion slump for awhile. Streaming has helped lift me out of that.

Parting words/ shout outs?

Yes! Big shoutout to my hubby GuidotankMan who helped come up with the streaming idea for me while I was on a low and setting me up. It has led me to finding a kindred spirit, streamer Sladygaga, and so many other wonderful friends. I’d also like to say — Thank you Buffaloretro for giving me a chance to let the world get to know me better!
