A brief visual history of AA.com
Editor’s note: Over the past couple of years the website has evolved from a very simple mathematically driven retrospective video game review site to a variety site featuring music, history, web mysteries and more.
I think that’s a good thing. Maybe other bloggers would disagree but who cares? In the grand scheme of things what does anything we do really matter anyways, right?
Anyways, always expanding in the realms of entertainment, the internet and nostalgia comes a new column by Cyberia. Cyberia is utilizing the power of the Internet Archives to republish regular generic web pages from the early nineties to today. What seems pedestrian serves as a reminder of everything that has changed in the world since the conception of the internet.
Without further ado, this is Cyberian Wasteland.
When we stare into a computer monitor what is it that greets us? Is it a snapshot of the state of humanity at that very moment? The banalities of work and normal life? A vulgar, self pleasuring portrait of the triumphs of the advertising industry? Or is it simply just history? Scaled down stories of a time ever fleeting, edited, changed and updated. Tomes with Captchas.
This is Cyberian Wasteland and this is a brief visual history of the domain name: AA.com
